Celiac Association Edmonton Chapter

About Us

Celiac Association Edmonton Chapter

Edmonton Chapter

The Canadian Celiac Association Edmonton Chapter was incorporated on September 21, 1984, to help support people with celiac disease in Edmonton and Northern Alberta. As our name implies, we are part of the Canadian Celiac Association. In fact, we were one of its first chapters.

We are committed to building a strong celiac community through events, awareness, education, and more. As well as providing information on our website, we stay in contact with and help those with celiac disease in Edmonton as they develop strategies to manage their condition.

The Canadian Celiac Association supports our chapter with tools and resources.

Mission Statement

The Edmonton Chapter serves people adversely affected by gluten with education, support, social events, and a variety of programs for all ages.

Erin Guevarra, RD

Diagnosed as an infant, Erin Guevarra is a lifelong celiac with a passion for trying new foods which led her to obtaining her degree in nutrition at the University of Alberta and starting a career as a registered dietitian. Erin has enjoyed watching the evolution of gluten free products over the years and is always seeking out new items and recipes to try. She has worked actively in clinical nutrition in a variety of areas including critical care, medicine, and outpatients, and enjoys the opportunity to teach patients about eating healthy while still enjoying food. Erin loves learning more about the research in the world of celiac disease and adapting food trends into gluten free options, with a special interest in learning how to perfect gluten free baking. She looks forward to her new role as Dietary Advisor and nutrition resource person for the chapter.
